Rob Block

Rob graduated with a B.S.in accounting from the University of Illinois and later earned a Juris Doctorate degree from DePaul College of Law, where he was on the law review. He has practiced in public accounting for many years, performing audits, reviews, compilations, and tax preparation and guidance, for both large and small public and privately held companies, in a wide range of industries.

Whether providing guidance on internal controls, implementing tax savings plans, or simply offering advice on general business matters, Rob strives to add value for his clients. He credits his roles as CEO of a real estate investment and development company and CFO of a 3D manufacturing company for his intuitive understanding of his clients’ needs.

Rob lives in Buffalo Grove with his wife. He loves spending as much time as he can with his two grown children and three grandkids. According to Rob, if there’s one thing in life that is not overrated, it’s being a grandparent. Rob loves to learn – in addition to the course work required to maintain his CPA license, he reads and takes courses in politics, history, literature, the sciences, philosophy, and religion. Rob and his wife enjoy traveling and attending plays and concerts. To keep active, he plays tennis, racquetball, and golf and recently took up pickleball. Rob grew up in Evanston, Illinois and is a Chicago sports fan. He was particularly happy when the Cubs finally won the World Series in 2016. As Cub’s management says...anybody can have a bad century.
