How We Customize Your Quote
How much does monthly accounting cost?
-
Know what you're paying for.
As a small business owner, you're used to taking the reins and handling everything yourself. But let's face it, juggling too many tasks can leave you feeling overwhelmed and drained.
We can help lighten the load, allowing you to focus on what you do best. After all, time is money, and we want to help you save both.Speaking of money... we know that transparency is important to you – you want to know what you're paying for and why. That's why we'll walk you through our pricing structure, tailoring a quote to fit your unique needs.
-
Let's talk real numbers.
The way we quote is pretty simple. It begins with two fundamentals:
Monthly – the complexity of your monthly financial activity and the complexity of your financial statements
Yearly – the complexity of your tax return
We have a fixed monthly fee. Here's what's built into this fee:
- Monthly profit and loss statement
- Monthly balance sheets
- Monthly bank reconciliation
- Business tax work
- Sales tax filings
- Advisory meetings
The fee for most businesses, depending on activity and complexities, ranges from $500 to $2,000 per month.Your fee is set when we begin our partnership and is reviewed annually, as the volume of your accounting activity and other variables can evolve.
What factors influence monthly accounting rates?
-
How complex is your business?
Complexity of transactions
Your fee is dependent partly on the complexity of your business transactions — how often they happen and where they go — and the number of accounts you have and monthly transactions that occur.
Complexity of your business
As your business grows, its financial structure becomes more complex. The intricacies of managing your finances and ensuring an error-free and compliant tax return evolve with it.
Our meticulous approach to the details of your business — from the number of business locations to sales tax, loans, and bank accounts — ensures that your financials are accurate and organized, so you make great decisions for your business.
-
Tell me more about your complexities?
Number of bank accounts, loans, and credit cards
As part of your onboarding, we'll review your QuickBooks data. We're looking at the number of bank accounts, loans, and credit cards you have so that we understand the complexity of your financials.
Some businesses might only have one or two transactions on an account every month, while others have much more than that.Sales tax management
Sales tax can be a complicated nuisance for business owners. We file sales tax as required, to save you time and headaches. We also do it to ensure accuracy – and to make sure it gets done.
It takes the burden off your shoulders so you can focus on what matters most to you.Multiple business locations
If you have multiple business locations and want each location to have its own profit and loss statement, we'll do that for you. And, if you have a location in another state that requires an additional tax return, our team is equipped to file business, personal, and payroll taxes throughout the United States.
With a solid understanding of your financials and a proactive approach to planning, you'll have the confidence to make decisions that will take your business where you want it to go.
Are there other costs I should know about?
-
Backwork
Backwork is how we help you reset your books and start with clean, accurate financials. We dig into your records, correct errors, and bring everything up to date. Along the way, we often uncover things like missed deductions, miscategorized expenses, or unrecorded transactions—issues that quietly throw off your reports. And when your reports aren't accurate, it's harder to budget, plan ahead, or make informed decisions.
Even if everything looks fine on the surface, there’s often more to clean up—and doing so can lead to real savings.
Cost: Monthly fee x the number of months of backwork needed to clean your books
-
Onboarding
Our onboarding process is designed to do more than just set up your account—it sets the tone for how we work together. In the first 90 days, we’ll get your books in shape, align on your goals, and make sure you have the tools and insight to make better business decisions from day one.
The Five Stages of Onboarding
The Kickoff Call

This isn’t just about collecting data—it’s about understanding the story behind your numbers. We’ll talk through how your business operates, what challenges you’re facing, and where you’re headed, so we can tailor our support to your goals.QBO + Dext Training
We’ll show you how to use QuickBooks Online and Dext effectively, so you’re set up for smoother, more accurate reporting. These tools make it easier for you to stay organized without needing to micromanage the accounting process.Backwork—Behind the Scenes
While you focus on running your business, we’ll be cleaning up and correcting historical financial data—bringing everything up to date so your reports are accurate and your foundation is solid.Financial Statement Review
We’ll walk through your updated financials together, answer questions, and make sure you understand how to use these reports to track performance, spot trends, and make informed decisions moving forward.

Year End
Business Tax Return Preparation + Filing
Accurate year-end reporting is essential for meeting tax obligations and avoiding costly mistakes. But tax planning doesn’t just happen at year-end. By looking ahead throughout the year, we help you take advantage of deductions and tax-saving strategies before deadlines pass.
We prepare and file your business tax returns in line with current laws—keeping you compliant, reducing risk, and helping your business hold on to more of what it earns.
Notice + Audit Protection (NAP)
Included with your Year-End Fee, NAP provides support if your business receives a tax notice from the IRS or your primary state tax agency.
As tax authorities rely more on automation, notices are becoming more common—even when filings are accurate. These letters can be confusing, and if ignored, may lead to penalties or further action.
You might receive a notice about:
- A mismatch in payroll tax filings, like 941s or W-2s (when payroll is processed through YPD)
- Sales tax reporting issues or rate discrepancies
- Estimated payments that don’t match what was expected
- Disputes over deductions, credits, or income classification
- Identity verification or suspected business-related fraud
When you receive a notice, we review it, explain what it means, and handle the response. If your business is audited or affected by tax-related identity theft, we represent you and work toward resolution.
NAP support is limited to notices from the IRS and the primary state where your business operates.
Cost is calculated based on your business size, structure, and the number of states in which you operate.
